School Overview

Hope Academy was born out of a vision Wynand and Marietjie du Plessis had to steward their building in Central (inner city), Gqeberha in a way that will glorify God. In their pursuit of this dream, they were approached by Kenny Lloyd from the Word of Life Church to consider opening a Christian school. This idea perfectly aligned with impacting the community and stewarding their building for God’s purpose.

Vision

Hope Academy through a biblical worldview prepares the hearts and minds of pupils through excellent holistic education that equips them to influence society.

Mission

We are a school that values a high level of teaching, learning and assessing. We intentionally equip young people to think and operate from a foundation of a clear biblical worldview.

We provide a warm extended family that cares for every learner through a range of close pastoral relationships with peers, teachers and sponsors.

We believe in honouring and respecting each other through personal self-control and discipline.

We provide an environment where we value pupils as individuals and so seek to identify their unique talents and characteristics.

We promote service, cooperation and teamwork in order to reach out to others and the community.

About The Principal

I have spent over twenty years in schooling both as a teacher and in school management. However, my number one passion is the gospel. I love sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in as many formats as I can. I blog about it. I preach about it. I teach about it. I encourage as many gospel initiatives as possible.
